My second iteration was made with layers of chipboard to make the same organic shape. I then created a mold using silicon and foam core to cast resin in so it was knly in the diagonal middle of the piece.
My first iteration included CNC milling a piece of mahogany in two halves, then gluing them together to creat the extents of the box. I then cast resin around it diagonally to highlight the two halves.
My sections show the cut though the wood (or in the case of the final, chipboard) and the diagonal piece of resin.
Linnea’s interpretation included layered chipboard combined with poured glycerin, which pooled at different heights in the boxes.
