CASE STUDY: 1180 4th Street

1180 4th Street is located in the Mission Bay Neighborhood of San Francisco. It is a 150 unit low income and affordable housing development, where 50 units are designated for formerly homeless families and children. It has space for civic and retail uses, and a large southwestern oriented courtyard that houses water collection and filtration systems. The building features operable windows and horizontal and vertical shading systems and is located a block away from a MUNI line running through SoMa to FiDi. 90% of occupants commute to work by bike, rail, or on foot.
